Maybe I missed it but this guy showed after the fact so maybe he was the clean up guy? So is the problem he was clean up ? I suspect it is the position and not the guy that's the problem?
He ran the ATF in a time when it was about to be melded with other federal agencies during one of the most corrupt administrations in our nation's history. The ATF survived and has gone on to abuse gun dealers and gun owners since.
He was placed in a position to prevent domestic terrorism at FEMA and that is exactly what happened on his watch.
His reward? A promotion.
