Monica Lewinsky Featured HBO Documentary (Upset people mis-understand her)

PASADENA, Calif. (AP) - Four years after the start of the scandal that almost toppled a president, Monica Lewinsky says she's still trying to figure out how to live a normal life.

Fighting back tears, and laughing a little, Lewinsky appeared at a news conference Wednesday to promote an HBO documentary scheduled to debut on March 3. Called ``Monica in Black and White,'' it largely consists of her answering questions from an audience of HBO staff and college students.

Lewinsky initiated the project and was paid for her participation, but she wouldn't say how much.

The former intern said she made the film partly because she was worried other TV movies being made about her case would perpetuate inaccuracies and misconceptions.

What is the biggest misconception people have about her?

``That I sought this celebrity by seducing the president and going to the White House with an agenda and turning on him so all of this could happen, so I could enjoy it and cause trouble for this country and make millions of dollars and perpetuate my celebrity,'' she said.

``And that I'm stupid,'' she added.

Lewinsky, who designs handbags and attends classes at Columbia University in New York, wore a black leather jacket and skirt. She appeared to fight back tears when a reporter asked about former President Clinton 's moral standards.

``I'm flustered right now,'' she said. ``I'm so sorry.''

She also tried not to answer a handful of questions, including how she felt about Monica Lewinsky jokes, indicating HBO wanted to save responses for the documentary. Eventually, she said gallows humor helped her, but she doesn't like how her name has become synonymous with the scandal.

``The ones that take my last name and equate that to something a lot of people in the world do is something really cruel,'' she said.

Lewinsky lamented that there's no handbook on how to act when anonymity is lost. Asked why she doesn't try to avoid public attention, she said, ``What I learned to do - and it seemed to work - is if I went to a certain number of events and gave photographers some pictures, they didn't stand outside my house.''

``I'm really trying to do the best I can to normalize my life,'' she said.

She curtly dismissed a question about how she felt about Clinton today: ``It's all in the past and I've really just moved on.''

Most people who recognize her - maybe not journalists - are very kind, she said.

``It started with that rule in kindergarten,'' she said. ``If you don't have something nice to say, don't say it at all.''

Hey Monica honey, not only are you stupid, but you're a real lousy judge of character. Oh, and you're lucky to still be alive.

She can't have it both ways. She went on Saturday Night Live because of her fame as the Oval Office Phalatio Queen. What a whore!

Oh, the Monica Madness, will it ever cease? Or is it like "The Clinton's," forever with us. I understand it very well, it's called GREED.

She made a choice. She did..what she did to Klinton. She didn't have to do it. I have very little sympathy for her.

Who in the world is standing outside her house now? Nobody! In just the past month, there have been two stories in the NYC newspapers about how Monica wasn't on the guest list at celebrity events, but tried to barge in anyway. She could live anonymously in New York, but she thinks she's a star, and wants to be treated like one.

Uh huh. I'm sure some real tough questions get asked.

Here's an article from last year about the Cooper Union interview session for the documentary (she cried then, too!). One excerpt:

...many students felt Lewinsky was "shallow" and "evasive" and that the evening with her was a waste of time. All audience members signed agreements that barred them from talking to reporters.

"Someone asked her how she thought the Clinton affair and public perception of it affected the national election," said a student from Brooklyn. "Lewinsky refused to answer. Can you beat that?"

Others said Lewinsky annoyed them by dodging simple questions like, "What do you think of Hillary Clinton as a senator?" Others said they were angry that she failed to apologize for having an affair with President Clinton when she was a White House intern, a scandal that nearly brought down the administration.

"Name one, Monica."

Exactly...this STOOOPID young lady hasn't learned one thing from her experience, IMHO. She still believes the World Revolves Around Monica when Basic Science would tell you that only smaller moons orbit Monica's appreciable gravitational mass.

Monica should have kept her mouth shut (in more ways than one!) Let me put it this way -- I actually read her stupid book, and for the first and only time ever, I actually felt sorry for Clinton!

Has she ever said "I was wrong, and am sorry for what I did?"
I've never heard it.

Take yer pick 'cuz either way it spells, "bad news."

But she'd sure fit the bill, alright.
Which assumes she hasn't recieved too much overexposure *starring* in the Flintsones?
Aww gezzz... :o)

...admittedly one of Hollyweired's *more* embarrassing, darker moments; in spite of Hollyweird's inability to feel shame.

Oh but she didn't seduce him, nor did she have an agenda, yeah right!

When will this stupid slut go away? That she can't realize she's full value as a national joke should tell all she'll never get it.
