bump. Thanks for the excellent quotes. Reading one of the biographies on Lee right now along with one on Stonewall. Some of these quotes are not in this biography and it makes me appreciate what a great man he was even more

So it's "false mythology" to attribute any noble motives to Lincoln, but not to beatify Robert E. Lee?
