San Francisco -- There's a new specimen blossoming at 1800 Market St. And for our tour, Johnnie Pratt, 42, outreach coordinator for the spiffy new Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Community Center will be our floriculturist and dimpled, hat-adorned guide.
The center was conceptualized 25 years ago by Supervisor Harvey Milk and planned nine years ago by an intentioned few. It was funded with $7.5 million in state and city monies raised by Assemblywoman Carole MigdenArchitects and Pfau Architecture created the flower that is part teal Victorian, part retro '70s multitinted glass, part chrome industrial, part white and watermelon modern minimalism and part (my fave) Tiffany blue. Oh my.

Gawd I'll take a plain BLT please, okay sarcasm aside...I am seriously wondering why FR doesn't have an "only in san fransisco" bump list!
That town is home to the weirdest ideas!!
Cutting off the flow of tax dollars to these "handicapped" people has got to be the hardest thing we have possibly faced.
Can it have an indoor target range, bbq pit and pictures of X42 painted in the urinals?
I mean, hey.. Tax Dollars are like "free money" anyway..
It's Government's money, they just give it all to us for nothing.
</obvious sarcasm>
Well, to quote the article, you can have one as soon as you convince an elected representative that you need a place where you can "eke out your queerness" and "be all you can be in the queer army."
This was paid for from both state and city monies?? Poor California FReepers!
And, *San FRancisco can be found here at the FR Bump List Register. Scroll down aways.

"Only in San Francisco" ping. "If you're going to San Francisco, be sure to wear some flowers in your hair..."
(A "ping" is when you type names in the To: bar, and the pingees see the post/thread when they click the Self-Search bar, after they have logged on.)
I hate to tell you, but it's their tax money too. AIDS treatment is expensive, but gay men seldom need social security. I have no idea what the balance is. I hate to think what the demographics will look like among ageing lesbians.
And whatchawanna guess THIS is about...HUMMM??
Since LGBT groups claim (read: lip service, obfuscation, big lie) to distance themselves from NAMBLA, you'd think they wouldn't use such an emotive buzzword as "INTERGENERATIONAL", which is the euphemism now used by homos and academia to describs sex with children. It's not "child molestation" or "pedophilia"; it's "intergenerational" relations "Intergen" for short.
Folks, if you don't know already, then GET ready: in your lifetime you will see "intergen" become what "gay" has become: a word describing a protected group and sanctioned, even EXALTED "lifestyle choice" (though, of course, they were BORN that way, right?)
Gay activists say that "intergenerational sex" is today what "interracial sex" was 30 years ago. There was a stigma attached to interracial sex, and it was opposed by racists. They assert that there is a stigma attached to "intergenerational sex" (read: boy buggering), and it is opposed by homophobes.
"Moderates" who play footsie with homos and parrot, "homosexuals aren't child molesters" are just helping the intergen jihad.
OH yeah. There's some servicing of youths going on at THIS place you can be sure.
