One barometer of our seriousness is the failure of pilots entrusted with jetliner controls to be entrusted with pistols for a last ditch defense of the cockpit.

President Bush could put out the word today and it would be policy next week, just like the Saudi womens' wear dicision, but instead he goes along with the "CYA" crowd.

He wes the first CO of ST6 because he had the luck to be the NavSpecWar O-5 at the Pentagon under Admiral Crowe when the Desert One fiasco occured in Iran.

Thus he was in the perfect spot for self promotion, (his greatest attribute), when new CT teams were formed.
