I read Ritter's book "End Game" when it was first published, and I have to say it didn't entirely mesh with the then-public perception of Ritter as a tough-guy nemesis of Iraq. I didn't know what to make of the guy then, and, after seeing him on FOX last night, I sure as hell don't know what to make of him now. Shameless self promoter?
One thing that does occur to me is that his 1998 image may not have been so much his own creation as the creation of conservatives, well-meaning or otherwise, who were only too ready to use Ritter as further evidence of the spinelessness of the Klintoons. As the marketing guys would put it, we may have oversold the product.
Personally, I'd like to see him on, say, Hannity & Colmes, and have Hannity say, "Would you go on the record with this subject to a polygraph." Then, roll one out.
