I used to be a registered republican in California (Alameda Cty) and the first time I voted they had a difficult time locating a GOP ballot. I thought it was funny at the time, but I am starting to wonder...

Hubby and I live in Contra Costa County, and there are a few more republicans in the central county than in Alameda. They didn't have any trouble finding a GOP ballot for us on primary night. Although the sour-looking older man at the table with the register looked even more sour when he announced "Republican" to the man next to him, who was handing out the ballots! I smiled sweetly. I don't think he liked that, either...
