"The CIA has largely discounted the proposition that Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein has maintained links with al Qaeda."

The CIA has been wrong and out of it on Iraq for years. The Iraqi National Congress has had better intelligence on Saddam and Iraq than the CIA has and the CIA hates it. Screw the CIA!

Perhaps it's time to look for al Qaueda connections in the CIA, and the State Department too for that matter. Seems our own institutions are riddled with those who would look away at any threat to America. Time to clean house.

Yes -- is this the same CIA that: 1. Completely and utterly failed to predict 9/11, despite the many, many people involved in planning and the 30 years of escalating Islamist terror that led up to it? 2. To this day claims that it did everything right despite its failure to predict 9/11? At this point, I tend to believe the exact opposite of whatever the CIA happens to be asserting...

The Vice-President discussed this New Yorker article on today's (3/24/02) Meet the Press. I have not seen the original article. Does anyone have a postable version or a link to the full article?

TIA!
