But I guess this is what happens when losers are confronted with a genius with brown skin.

It has nothing to do with the color of their/your skins, and everything to do with the attitudes many Indians and Pakastanians display once they get here. It has to do with arrogance and "stand-offishness",and so many of you getting government loans at 0% percent interest to buy a going business and not having to pay any income taxes the first 7 years you are here. It has to do with the superior attitude many/most/all I have ever met of these new immigrants display towards Americans. It has to do with even simple stuff like buying up all the gas stations and convenience stores along interstates in certain areas, and then even denying people the right to use the rest rooms unless they buy gas.

It has nothing to do with genius, which rises to the surface in all races and groupings of people,as does stupidity. It DOES have to do with foreigners to this country who have learned how to "play the game" and come here as "persecuted religious minority" refugees and immediately start filling out the papers for grants, free housing, low or zero interest loans, etc, etc, etc. that are NOT available to most American citizens. Nope, that has NOTHING to do with "genius",and everything to do with coaching people how to take advantage of a system they then turn around and ignore. Even after all these special advantages that this country gives you, every single one of you that I have ever seen do everything in their power to keep the culture you allegedy ran away from, and deny American as being inferior.

I will grant you that it is not YOUR (the collective you) fault the US gooberment shows favoritism to foreigners and penalizes her own citizens, but none the less you have to recogonize the reality that this "favored position" will be held against you by people born in this country who can't get these deals.

In short,I'm a American Indian, and I don't much like you people, either. No,I do NOT know all of you. What I do know is that I have yet to meet a single one of you I would call 911 for if you were laying dying along the side of the road. This has nothing to do with either genius or skin color, and everything to do with the attitudes I see on display.

The jealousy and racism rampant on this thread is stifling. But I guess this is what happens when losers are confronted with a genius with brown skin.

Gag alert. Where was the violation of rights and jurisdiction of people with brown skin? I am stupefied.

This guy with the unpronouncable name is going to be as rich as Bill gates if he has any business acumen at all.

That would be a rare combination. Let's not forget that a part of Gates success can be laid to the fact that his mother was on the board of directors at IBM when he sold them the rights to use DOS. Talk about having a "Rabbi"!

None the less,I am sure this young man will suddenly have thousands of new friends, all of whom will be more that willing to learn how to pronounce his name, and all of whom will be MBA's.

With much sadness his girlfriend was forced to admit that he does, in fact, have an "aspirin-sized server".

Socialism is one reason. The caste system is legally outlawed (it has been that way since 1948). Lower castes are given job/educational preferences, like blacks and Hispanics are given here.

You seem to think theat the majority of Indian people in this country are "arrogant", "stand-offish", an that they have a "superior attitude." Maybe the peoploe you saw were like that---I don't know. Most of the Indian people I know behave pretty much like everyone else.

I have seen white owners of gas stations also not let people use the rest room unless they were buying gas or something else. It seems a common enough practive in the industry.

The vast majority of Indians came here in the course of the normal visa process, they did not cliam "perscuted religious minority (refugee) status."

I don't think Indians in this country are smarter than anyone else. Having written that, at least statistically speaking, they do seem to be more successful than most (or all) ethnic groups. They are 1% of the population yet 5% of the doctors. They also comprise 20-25% of the computer programmers and engineers in this country. In U.S. medical schools, they comprise 10% of the student population. In many surveys they are (on a per-cpita basis) the wealthiest ethnic group in America.

As far as Indians (or anybody else) keeping to their culture, what is so wrong about that? They tend to have their own social groups, which white Americans (and everybody else) also tend to do.

My best friend is an Indian fellow -- one of the nicest people you would ever meet. I think somebody's a little obsessed with stereotypes...

Maybe richer! After all he really invented something. Unlike Wm. Gates III who "borrowed" every piece of technology he sells.

So what did this guy "invent", the chips or the web server?

His mother had zip to do with it. MIcrosoft in 1980 was already a leading language manufacturer for microcomputers. CPM was the first choice of IBM, not MS-DOS. CPM grabbed a bunch of attitude and IBM went away. The lawyers for CPM did them in. Microsoft took many chances and worked their collective butts off to create MS-DOS for the IBM computer. Even then, CPM and other operating systems were developed for the IBM PC.

His mother was sitting on the board of IBM when they went looking for a replacement for CPM. Gates didn't develope DOS,but bought it from the developer. Nothing wrong with that, and he is responsible for further developement of it.

Ahhh, nothing like a racist furriner who whines about racist directed towards him. I might just take your suggestion, though. Firewater goes good with sacred cow.

"His mother was sitting on the board of IBM when they went looking for a replacement for CPM"

Nope. Jack Sams (I believe), of IBM, had approached Microsoft for CPM, thinking that Microsoft could produce both BASIC (and a few other languages) and CPM in one nice contract. Microsoft didn't have the license to resell CPM, only to produce the SoftCard, which ran CPM programs on an Apple computer. Once IBM realized this, they went to Digital research, who basically blew them off. Gates, in a gamble of the century, told IBM that MS could produce the needed OS. They did, and the rest is history. Gate's mom played NO known role in this. Microsoft had already made the required name for itself as a leading language producer, and, to IBM, the producer of the SoftCard, a CPM host. IBM wanted languages and CPM. They thought they could get both from Microsoft.

There was never a replacement to CPM as CPM was never produced for the IBM, and IBM was already doing business with Microsoft when they needed an OS because Digital Research didn't want to play.
