I have become a convert to the notion that eating fat does not make one fat, eating carbohydrates makes one fat. After years of trying every diet I could think of and exercising my buns off while still relentlessly gaining weight, I cut out most carbohydrates (not easy to do in this society - just try finding something that does not have corn syrup or high fructose corn sypup in it). I ate just protein and fat. I lost 40 pounds in 6 weeks. It was easy.
Don't pass a "fat" tax, it's half of what I can eat. Carbohydrates make me ill, I mean really ill. We're designed to eat fat and animal protein. Just call me an obligate carnivore.
