My son had a old GMC Jimmy that he used to get to the back country in order to go caving. I know a father is supposed to get mad at a kid who has a car accident but what do you tell a kid that tore off the mirrors and wrecked the bumpers off of his truck and at the same time wore out two volumes of "The Caves of Tennessee?

LOL! I am from Iowa and Cornfed was one of my nicknames in college---because I am from Iowa and six feet tall!

he he You're not from around here are you?

~~~~~~~~
It is the same no matter where you go. Only 1% of 4 wheel drive owners really need a vehicle that can drive all four wheels. The rest use it when it isn't necessary, or purposely take their vehicles where 4WD is required for absolutely no reason other than kicks. The odds of you being one of those 1% are slim.
12. Let's get this straight. We have one stoplight in town. We stop when it's red. We may even stop when it's yellow.
And nobody locks their car doors when they go to town, except for a few weeks during the summer. And that's only to keep people from leaving bags of zucchini in the back seat when you're not looking.
LOL. If it's not fruit it's some gutted carp left on the dash. I don't know who thinks that's funny but I can't wait to find 'em.
With the zucchini, it's usually a matter of everyone's over-planted the stuff in their garden, and they and everyone they know has all of it they want, so they start "giving it away". If you're not around to ask, you can't say "No.".
As far as the carp goes, all I can say is that snapping turtles have been known to find their way into unattended beer coolers left in the back of pickup trucks.
Yah. We've found everything from spinach to habeneoro's (sp?) after being pakred on Main Street for long enough. Actually there were four other vehicle owners that day that found carp on their dashes. We are all friends and were all at the indoor firing range for about 4 hours. We figure that it's someone we know but no one has come up with a name "yet".
There have been many times when I have gotten out big binds while pulling a trailer load of cows through big deep mud holes
only because of the four wheel drive. There have also been times when I have taken the two wheel drive where I should have had
the four wheel drive and had to call the house and have someone bring a chain and the four wheel drive.
One doesn't always need it here, but depending on the weather, can use it right.
I see what your saying though, we're too dumb to know what we need.
