BTTT.
Good read. Lots to learn whatever the party.
BTW, what's "liberal-labor"? Most establishment liberals couldn't care less about working people.

The problem is that the author is assuming that there are some Democrats that have integrity, that is, just a few of the Democrats are "Enron Democrats".
They are ALL Enron Democrats.

I realize Greider is outraged about those nasty Dems who happen to like capitalism, but so what? At least the stinking, hypocritical Dems like Daschle realize where their bread is buttered unlike socialists like Greider who would like to tear down the entire free-enterprise edifice because of the actions of a few corrupt corporate greedheads like the Enron scum.
That doesn't mean that I like the Daschle types who mislead the gullible Dem voters who think they represent all that's decent and good in America while constantly screaming that those nasty conservative Republicans are the worst. But conservatives have to learn to distinguish between your ordinary run-of-the-mill avaricious and corrupt Dem pols and the commie symps and anti-American trash who are members of The Progressive Caucus. There is a difference. A pox on both greedy, hypocritical Dems and commie "saints" like Greider and other "progressives".

Senator Joe Lieberman, as chairman of the Governmental Affairs Committee, presides over hearings into what-went-wrong with the air of sorrowful piety that is his specialty. "Gatekeepers weren't keeping the gate, watchdogs weren't watching," he lamented. He neglects to mention that he is one of the faulty watchdogs and also a leading gatekeeper who blocked the timely reform of corporate finance. The Senator has a hypocrisy problem. He frequently sermonizes on the moral failings of others, including other public figures. Meanwhile, he has shilled vigorously, sometimes venomously, for the very players who are new icons of corruption -- major auditing firms, corporate executives who cashed stock options early while investors took a bath and, especially, those self-inflating high-tech companies in Silicon Valley that drove the stock-market bubble. As a New Democrat, Lieberman held the door for their escapades.
A New Democrat dressed in the same shabby Old Democrat clothing.

Great find! Here's my vote for "Understatement of the Year":
"The Senator [Lieberman] has a hypocrisy problem."
