But now President Bush has done the same, cutting swaths out of the 1st Amendment with a stroke of the pen. He told conservative groups everywhere thatthe bill had 6 points about it that he opposed, and first off, that it was a violation of our First Amendment rights. And then he signed it.

Unless it is enforced and then found unconstitutional by the Supreme Court it has not violated our Constitutional Rights. It may theoretically violate what you and I would like to think are our rights, but it is just wishful thinking. We are not the arbiters, we have delegated that decision to the Supreme Court. This bill will be tested and found either constitutional or not long before it ever impacts on any of us.

You are either posturing or hysterical.

I am not posturing, nor hysterical. I am angry that our President
has deliberately misled his party and ignored his oath.
Compromising your principles for political expediency is bad
enough, but to attack the foundation of our basic freedoms is
beyond reproach.

You and I will just have to disagree with each other.
I'm hoping the SCOTUS strikes it down, but their rulings
have surprised people before.
