Get Your Kids Out Of Public Schools

Dr. Dobson Praised for Telling Californians:
Get Your Kids Out Of Public Schools

March 28, 2002, Fresno, Calif. -- In a statement to supporters, Marshall Fritz, President of the Alliance for the Separation of School & State, said: "For years, James Dobson has supported three options for Christians: Public schools, Christian schools, and home schooling. With today's courageous and insightful statement, Dr. Dobson joins the millions of Americans who have concluded that many public schools are no place to train new generations of Americans."

Dr. James Dobson, President of Focus on the Family, stated on his daily radio broadcast on March 28: "In the state of California, if I had a child there, I wouldn't put the youngster in a public school.... I think it's time to get our kids out. And I'm going to get hit for [saying] that." Dr. Dobson's full remarks can be heard at Family.org  web site.

Dr. Dobson's broadcast is heard by 200 million people daily in over 100 countries, and his comments on the state of public schooling may mark a key turning point in the critical education discussion. Many other Christian leaders have expressed concern that public schools are too dangerous for Christians, notably Dr. D. James Kennedy of Coral Ridge Ministries; T.C. Pinckney, recently elected Second Vice President of the Southern Baptist Convention; and Dr. Tim LaHaye, author of the popular Left Behind series of novels.

General Pinckney's address to Baptist leaders, titled "We Are Losing Our Children," is considered by Fritz to be one of the clearest expositions of the difficulty of Christians in today's American public schools. The transcript is available at SepSchool.org. Rev. E. Ray Moore, founder of ExodusMandate.org, also supports Dr. Dobson by saying, "Indeed, it's time to leave behind Pharaoh's schools and go to the promised land of Christian schools and home schooling." Fritz notes that approximately 15,000 have gone so far as to sign a Public Proclamation for the Separation of School and State that calls for the end of government involvement in education.

Scores of religious leaders, including Kennedy, Pinckney, and LaHaye, have endorsed this concept. See their names at:

Fritz urged his supporters to send their support to Dr. Dobson: "You could hear him wince; he knew some will not like his message. Let's show him that he has supporters, too."

Link goes to the site, but not to Dobson's statement. This article doesn't give his reasons why, but I suspect it is because of the sex education programs in the California government schools.

I did this a while back. When the first of our children were born my wife and I said that none of the children we have will ever grace the interior of the Police State of New Yorks public indoctrination system. While many great and good teachers are in this system it is one that is prone to failure in nearly every way, tells the parents they have no say in most matters and forces the secular world view on them without knowledge of or permission of the parent.

100% Catholic agreement bump. My kids will never see the inside of a public school (aka Culture of Death Indoctrination Center).

As always, Dr. Dobson is not afraid of telling it like it is. I've admired him for years and in the last few years even more so as he has taken some very public stands on some of these significant moral issues. I definitely support Focus on the Family and would urge others to do the same.

I am not yet blessed with children, but I have already decided. They will go to a government school over my dead body. I will either home school them or send them to the school that is affiliated with my church. Government schools are little more than training camps for homosexuals, drug addicts, gang members and obedient little socialists.

A veil is lifted. One can scarcely imagine the horror which
has been and continues to be inflicted on the innocent children.

Can someone tell me if this lady has some important info here http://www.deliberatedumbingdown.com/index.html

Dobson's advice doesn't apply to just public schools. It also applies to most of the secular private schools. Many of the non-Christian secular private schools are worse than the public schools. They teach secular humanism using inane methods.

Thank you, yes. The link you provided is where people should go.

You know, Dobson's call could be a turning point for this country.
I hope it is.

Took my kids out of publick schools around 10 years ago and never regretted it.

Made my decision the night the principal had a special parents' meeting (scheduled on the same night a soccer signups and cheerleading tryouts, to minimize attendance by involved parents). He announced the grammar school would no longer give grades. Most of the audience agreed with him, which I thought strange until I realized half the attendees were guidance counselors and other administrators, who would actually benefit from the kids' failures. They talked about introducing "invented spelling", and "whole learning". When he held up the new math book, called "Math Their Way", I decided we were out of there. The kids have been doing great in Catholic school.

This group is doing some great work:

Black Alliance for Educational Options (BAEO)

Don't miss Roberta Kitchen's story.. She is a single professional mom who for" the past 17 years. . . has been raising five children abandoned by their mother who was strung out on drugs and alcohol."

Let's not forget the VIOLENCE the kids are exposed to in public schools! Crazy adults aside, the undisciplined children practically run the schools. My kids got lots of examples, from kids pouncing on their lunches and outright stealing their desserts (no, they never stole the nutritious stuff) to having teeth knocked out on the playground (the school didn't even bother calling home to let us know) to listening to teachers spend the day yelling at the kids to try to establish some kind of order. They would come home sick from the stress of witnessing this type of behavior and begging to go back to homeschool. No more trying out the public schools for us. This is an 'exemplary' public school in a small Texas town. I understand the city schools are worse.
