According to the history books, getting into a war against the Turks is a very bad idea.

"According to the history books, getting into a war against the Turks is a very bad idea." A century ago, the Ottoman Empire was, "The sick man of Europe." If they can resist EU membership, and it's socialist overtones, Turkey may re-emerge as one of the most vital, healthy nations in the region. Turkish loyalty is not given lightly, and cultivating their unwavering friendship would be, IMHO, well worth the effort.

They beat off superior better armed forces in WWI and no force was more feared by the North Koreans.

According to the history books, getting into a war against the Turks is a very bad idea. Yep. I also thought the same thing when the Taliban declared war on the Aussies, after they announced their support for the US. Lets see... declare war on a group of people who drink beer out of a tomato juice sized beer can, and have a guy jumping into pits with crocodiles as "entertainment". Mistake.
