No doubt: the opposite forearm from her writing hand.....highly suspicious

As a related note: more hidden but almost as prolific in young women as anorexia/bulimia is the problem of self cutting. It's less known because it can be hidden for a long time under clothing, unlike anorexia.

It will be easy to tell if she was a "cutter" by old scars.

My understanding is that cutting is well known as a symptom of sexual abuse. Is there a cutting epidemic unrelated to this?

I really enjoyed eves-dropping on this one folks! It broke the middle-east tensions for a while. Thanks.
Her family/parents probably saw her various cuts and asked her about them and she probably made up the story about being attacked to cover herself.

...And they said, "Quick, call the media!"

Roberta Quintana, Quintana's mother, said the attack was the third time Mora has been beaten for being gay . . .
. . . She said it reminded her of the gruesome beating death of Matthew Shepard in 1998 . . .
. . . "The whole time I was driving to the hospital, I was picturing her on that fence," Roberta Quintana said.

Curious, imho.
