I used to deliver the Republic in my younger days and, in the mid 80s, read it every day. It was a fairly good and solid rag. Then it became CNN, conservative voices became rare, and ads became it real reason for being. I quit reading long before I left town.

Now, this new captain is in the editor's chair.
