Take a step in faith, the Lord may want you to move on. Some time ago we had a 3500 sq ft home. The city voted to incorporate the area, which would increase our payments by $300/mo. One of the reasons we moved there in the first place was no city taxes.
Within 10 days of the decision we closed on both homes. The new one is on 25 acres, smaller easier to clean and we just love it!!
Don't cry, take it as an adventure. Five years from now, you'll be better off. God's in control.
