I'm going to politely disagree with the writer...with a caveat. If Israel is allowed to push quickly through the Palestinian territories and allow her military to do the job, then yes, I think she will be successful.

Perhaps reasonable Palestinian leadership will arise; one that will sign treaties and keep them. One that will not endorse, sustain, and bankroll terrorism. Then a peaceful coexistence can begin. Not until.

Its not called Arafatstan for nothing. The Egyptian has -for years- eliminated moderate rivals in mafia fashion. The group of refusees should have rival parties and rival leadership candidates... but Yasser kills 'em off and bankrolls shrill Islamic clerics in the same vein as his relative who is an extremely extreme extremist pushing jihad every Thursday in the mosque.

With the refusee man in the street subjected to Yasser controlled media (for years) and Yasser controlled education (for years) no wonder the average refusee is an ignorant radicalised foaming at the mouth airhead/automon/lemming bent on revenge and the death of Israel the author of all his miseries.

I agree with you. I am hopeful Bush & Co. will stand enough out of the way to let Israel do what it needs to do.
