A lie is a deliberate misstatement, which is what we have here:
How could the author not know what Ashcroft actually said?
How could an American law professor not know Marbury v Madison?
Study the Patriot Act for yourself- stop parroting people you admit are dishonest and/or incompetent.
I would like to clarify a couple of points regarding this statement.
1. I have studied the Patriot Act, and I stand by my contention that it is a terrible act that has turned America into a police state.
2. Posting articles that interest me does not, IMO, qualify as "parroting" people. If the article has faults, discuss them, don't condemn me personally. I didn't write the thing! If you don't like the writing, take it up with the author.
3. If the article has faults, it is the problem with that individual article. That in no way negates the fact that America's freedoms and liberties no longer exist because of the Patriot Act.
