I do say that we should get rid of the bad priest but we must not condemn until we know who are the guilty ones.

And how about the bishops and cardinals that covered it up and intimidated the families complaining about it. What should the Pope do about them

And forget this small minority stuff. Check out the posts anout the seminaries becoming havens for the Rump Rangers

Just pretend it was a principal at a local public school involved in all this BS . I am sure your self richeous brain would be saying that's cause God was taken out of the schools

Hey, take it easy, champ. The Pope is not some kind of one-sided political figure who makes remarks off the cuff. He has repeatedly endorsed Israel's right to self-defense, and did it again today. That goes well beyond anyone in the EU.

JPII's concern for Palestinians--a minority of whom actually want peace (sadly, it is a minority, but that's what the Gaza and West Bank polls really do say about Palestinians' views on the suicide bombings)--is well-founded, even if it's clear that Israel's military action is necessary.

A lot of us Catholics are backing Israel heartily in her hour of need, so it seems a bad time to start beating up on us now.

Read the statistics. Unless you are a Catholic priest you are more likely to be a child molester than the average Catholic priest is.

The pope is loses all credibility when he equivocates humiliation with survival. For Israel it is a matter of survival and he is concerned about the feelings of Palestinians. Maybe these Palis need a shrink to help them get over the guilt.

Bishops and Cardinals are priests also. Most of them are old and will soon be out of office. I wish they would resign, but how am I to make them. We can discuss all you want, but it won't make one bit of difference.

As for the seminaries, not all of them are bad either.

There is good and bad in everything. As long as the world is run by man, who is sinful, then nothing is totally good. You will find corruption everywhere. Yes, even the Church has its bad eggs.

It sounds like to me that you would want to say their all guilty, at least the things that you disagree with, and the hell with presuming that they just might be innocent. Go ahead, uncbob, trash the constitution.

For a very long time before and even during WWII, the Church was the ONLY one defending them, as it could, seeing as how it had no army. Look up the papal document Mit Brenender Sorge.

This is disappointing. I suspect the Curia is keeping the Holy Father less than well informed on things happening over there.

Israel should get out of the occupied areas. They should let the Palestinians have some place to live in peace.

1) The areas wouldn't be "occupied" if the surrounding countries had not attacked Israel in 1967. They lost the war and they shouldn't be whining about the land. Do you honestly think that Syria would be rushing to give land back to Israel if the 1967 war would have turned out differently. Hell, no!

2) The Isrealis are happy to let the Palestinians live in peace. It's the Palestinians who refuse to be peaceful. Don't forget that Jordan kicked out Arafat and the Palestinians in 1970 for trying to foment a revolution there.

3) It's a total myth is that the Arabs who now call themselves "Palestinians" were long established in what is now Israel until the Jews came and "displaced" them. Actually, Arab immigration into present-day Israel displaced the Jews.

The Pope cannot even take care of his own business, so what is he doing meddling in other business. He should be taking care of his pedophile priests.

WE ARE ALL CONCERNED ABOUT THE TENSION IN THE Middle East but don't you think he should direct his attention to cleansing the Catholic image in light of the disgusting actions of his own Bishops and Priests who continue on with their henious actions remaining in their current positions? The Catholics need to grow a backbone or convert to being Pentacostals, that alone would solve the problems they seem so inept to deal with!

It sure took him awhile to say something about humiliations forced on young boys by sodomite priests who were shielded by church hierarchy. It's not that it never happens in other religions, but those people generally go to jail instead of being shifted around. If the shoe were on the other foot, the pope, and the eurotrash wouldn't care one iota.I'm not endorsing Sharon, who never wanted peace anyway, but I understand the anger in Israel. If the Jews over there show restraint they look like sheep, and when they kick a**,they're called too aggresive.I guess if you're in for a dime, why not in for a dollar? The Frech scumbags have a lot of nerve-their colonial wars were bloodbaths. And the Belgians have hundreds of thousands of African lives on their their heads.they ought to quit moralizing. And we need to get the hell out of the whole mess. The future of Israel is of no strategic consequence to us.

. I really have nothing against the Jews and neither do I harbor any ill feelings towards the everyday Muslim.

Well you should. They obviously have it wrong about God since neither group believes in Jesus as Savior. They believe in other Gods.

They should be made to submit to Christianity or be killed....
Sorry, not being a religious person I am getting my religions mixed up.

In any event you should not be tolerant of religious beliefs that are obviously wrong, just to get along, and make these people who are an affront to God comfortable in their erroneous beliefs..
I am sure God isn't to tolerant about having strange gods before HIM. - Tom

calling on Israel to use proportionate force in its acts of legitimate self-defence

How utterly stupid. If you have a disproportionate force available to throw at an enemy, the smart thing to do is use it. Win the objective quickly and decisivly and leave them with no delusions about your might and willingness to use it. THEN you have peace.

As for the Catholic Church, it is run by sell outs and cowards who have already bought their prayer rugs.

Queen Isabela of Spain didn't have the full support of the Pope either when the Spaniards rescued Spain from the Muslims.

The Pope should be more concerned with the humiliation of untold numbers of young boys, whose lives were ruined by the Church's tolerance of pedophiles. I'm serious. Seems like the Vatican is ready to turn on the Jews again, but then, who isn't? Here's the scorecard:

Siding with Muslim terrorists - All Arab nations, UN, European Union, Catholic Church, American and international media;

Siding with Israel - the US, presumably...Oh, and the One True God.

The battle lines are being drawn - so, who do you think will win?
