I would like to see your source on Heston making the statement about Ak-47's.
The source is Heston himself,on various tv shows after he was first elected president of the NRA. One show was the "Rosie Show",and the other was "The View". I have no doubt he said the same thing on other shows,too.
BTW,Heston used to brag about how he was "probably the American most responsible for getting GCA-68 signed into law." He says this is because he "went to the White House and talked a reluctant president into signing it."
I think his handler(LaPierre)has now mostly got Heston to the point where he doesn't say things like this in public.
