Thank You for that post.
We who are here today must at the very least, understand the price of Freedom.
Secession? Sure, It's about time that we toss the the U.N.
States? Commonwealths? Case by Case.

Ignore #40 - he's checked out. Let's all go to TX...waddayasay?

For one you are relying on yet another gov't to do what it thinks is best for it.... if you wanna talk about bad gov't??? hell I live in california.. you wanna talk about bad gov't? You think I would trade the United States for the Great Country of California???? hell no... regardless of the forms the gov't you abide by will always have problems... all the way down to the local level... there is no right of the states for them to resolve themselves to leave the union... that's just plain stupid in my opinion... in fact I hope Texas leaves the union.. that way when they leave Mexico can re-invade and take over the steers and q............ that still live in that cursed state. And don't forget where your president came from!
To: mdittmar
And we must not forget the noble cause in which the civil war was fought.. freedom of all men on this planet no matter how much we disagree or disent with their opinion or their being but their continued right to exist in a free manner... the one who has forgotten this is the man that is no longer living but himself a slave to his own ignorance.

Bravo, mdittmar!
I've been on many of these Lincoln bash-a-thons, and I've encouraged people to base their statements on the historical record and not emotion. You have done this; in this one statement we can see where Lincoln stood at the beginning. He proposed peace and South Carolina rejected peace, by firing on Fort Sumter.
The south started the war, and the north ended it. I didn't mention earlier that I don't disagree that the south hasn't been maligned in recent years. They have certainly been the victim of political correctness run amok, but as I stated earlier, comparing that to the actual war is a statement of monumental ignorance....

Obviously, #44 is not a candy bar, but a killjoy.
Ah well, it was a nice idea....

Well, on a given day we all get over to TX and begin the process of taking over. Look, you don't want to live in N. Mexico, do you? Taxes are too high, people are too liberal....kinda like where I am....only with sun.
To: Almondjoy
You are too funny! Steers and qu..... in Texas, while you live in California, give us all a break.

I'd vote for a different
planet if it were possible...
For those of our fellow Americans living in the high immigration states like Texas, Florida, and California, it is almost as though a secession has already occurred, but IN REVERSE.

How about the country of Aztlan? This country would include at least California, New Mexico, Arizona, and Texas...

"If Mormons can move in mass to the state of Utah and subsequently control its government, could not freedom-loving people do the same in another state? " -- article The problem is that Williams thinks he is fighting fairy-tales. The UN rules everything about our lives with few exceptions. There is no place to migrate and as a result, we must stand and fight for our personal rights and dignity.

Yes, but if we conservatives (minus the Libertarians who want open borders) could own TX, we could send all the illegals home and establish laws that allow our nation of TX border patrol to shoot on sight. Just think of all the landscaping and pickin' jobs we could have to ourselves!

Damn, dude. Relax!!! This is supposed to be a discussion forum. Name calling isn't nice. We're all supposed to be adults, not 5 yr. olds.
GOD BLESS THE CONFEDERATE STATES OF AMERICA!!!!
(Sorry, I couldn't help myself!)

Let's stand and fight from TX. We could all move in on an appointed month and start the takeover....

"My suggestion to future Lincoln bashers is to examine ALL of the contemporary documentation, then sit and think about it using the power of reason, as opposed to emotion, and get back to us. "
It was Lincoln who used emotion. The southern states joined the union with the idea that they could leave at any time. It was Lincoln who was in the wrong.

How about across our nation from sea to shining sea? Let's leave no one out. Hereis something that you might be interested in.
