I could be wrong, but I fully expect Sharon to finish with the West Bank within the next few days, then move into Gaza. I think he'll keep whatever forces he needs in the West Bank while he uses the rest to clean out Gaza. It wouldn't make any sense to clean out one without cleaning out the other.

Besides, it really doesn't matter what you think or I think. The bottom line is that God gave the land to the Israelis. He promised to bring them back, which He did in 1948. He said they will never leave the land again--it's theirs forever.
You are not really struggling against them or me. You are struggling against God. If no one else on earth supported the Israelis, you could still never take the land from them.
If you don't mind, I'd like to steal that line for future use.
These liberals go on and on about how much despair and suffering the Palestinian people endure and this is the excuse for murder. Ref: Suicide bombers are the appalling but inevitable result of decades of despair (gag). But yet accordiing to them- the blacks in South Africa suffered unimaginably. They should've held the record for suicide bombings in Jo'burg.
I would also point him towards his own feelings of revulsion when those Branch Davidians opted to burn up instead of surrender or (if he's old enough) the sheer horror of all those weirdos in Jonestown who committed mass suicide at the behest of Jim Jones. What about the Colorado school shootings- crazies who wanted to take out innocent victims with them? The left was all over that. What's the difference- the Arafats of this world are doing the same thing?
I'm sure he felt digust and great pain at all those victims of the Oklahoma City Bombing but he applauds the fanatics on the other side of the world. Is it just because it's abstract for them? It's something on the tube that they can feel free to pontificate on and express moral indignation over without having any real physical investment in?
I don't have any answers to those questions because I don't understand how the world went from seeing Arafat for what he was when I was a lad (a terrorist) to giving him a Peace Prize and weeping in sympathy for him. The mantra of the Left is Death. Death for us all. The smart ones on the Left woke up on 9/11. What remains since are the ideological brethren of the bin Ladens in the universe.
Like I said, I need a vacation. I'm going on one Sunday- to a Muslim nation as a matter of fact and I'm going to leave all this ugliness behind for a few weeks.

It works in lots of variations too. I'll credit the line to where I first heard it: where I worked a long time ago (I was a leadman over one of the production line sections) we were arguing with another leadman who was a known brown-noser. He happened to have a broken wrist and had a cast on. One of the other leadmen piped up suddenly with "How'd you get that cast anyway? Somebody kick the boss in the nuts?"
You can variate it with "Tell us how Arafat's farts smell while you're down there" and other things of this nature.

Technically speaking, we are all sinners, including yourself, which makes you just as much a sinner as anyone. That said, your efforts at moral equivalency is 100% bull crap, for many reasons.
Israel hasn't expressed any desire to eliminate any Arab country or slay all of its citizens. Israel has expressed no desire to kill all Muslims. Israel has never expressed a desire to kill those people of many nationalities now calling themselves palestinians and drive them all into the sea. Many in the Arab world, including the terrorist leaders of the palestinian movement (it is a movement and not a "people," by the way) have officially expressed these ideas. They're not even shy about expressing their desire to erase Israel from existance, and to kill Jews and Americans. they write about it, Sing about it. Dance when we die. They want to kill all Jews (they'll use the wimpy leftists ones first but will eventually kill them too if they can.) Jews do not want to kill all Arabs. Palestinians who support terrorism are NOT morally equivalent the Israelis who support their government's policies, nor the moral equivalent of Americans.
Israel is NOT occupying a foreign country. There never was a "palestinian state." The area prior to modern Israel was populated with Bedoins and Jews right up to the reestablishment of Israel, so it is amazing that the "palestinians" think they have some claim to a country of their own and try to imply that only Arabs lived in it prior to the modern Isrtaeli state's formation, and therefore they should have all of it. (And they want ALL of it, by the way.) BUt in fact there were Jews there continuously for 3000 years. So the "prior claim" argument is just plain silly for the palestinians to dredge up. Sadly, they are so set on their mythmaking that they try to destroy what was there prior to the Islamic era, and make up history to promote their cause.
Technically speaking, the palestinians should be standing in line behind the Israelis, the British, the Ottoman Empire, and the Roman empire, and all the other legitimate governments which DID exist.

(First of all Israel NEVER "took over" an innocent, a muslim country, or a palestinian country, for that matter. There never was a palestinian country. What the palestinians are doing is more akin to what China is trying to do to Tibet. Heck, it isn't even comparable to that since at least China is a country. Your comparison is more akin to Castro's takeover of Cuba and establishment of a communist dictatorship.)
Would I do as the palestinians do? ABSOLUTELY NOT. NEVER would I endorse the deliberate targetting of of children, not even those of the enemy. NEVER would I endorse suicide or make excuses for suicide bombers. NEVER would I bomb a pizza parlor full of Chinese civilians. NEVER would I write up an official American policy to exterminate Chinese. NEVER would I as an individual kill anyone for the sake of revenge for real- or in the case of palestinians- for imaginary offenses, as do palestinian terrorists.
I will not sell my soul for a dictatorship, which is exactly what the palestinian terror-advocates are doing. I would not sacrifice individual liberties for "socialist group rights" (palestinians in Israel DO have the right to worship freely and the right to free speech, not because of Arafat but because of Israel). And "group rights" is exactly what Arafat is after- not individual rights, which are contrary to group rights. The palestinian movement is morally repugnant and self-government is nonsense without a respect for individual life and the Rule of Law. Call me when Yassir departs, along with his terrorist hacks, and call me when the palestinian people overwhelmingly condemn suicide and punish terrorists instead of throwing parties when Americans and other nationalities die or are murdered.
And no, Israel is in no way comparable to China because in Israel, you can worship freely. And you can speak freely, while in China people cannot. And in PA territory you cannot, either, lest your terrorist neighbors lynch you or execute you. I'm a Christian, suicide is immoral and no one who practices or advocates it will EVER be considered "morally equivalent" to anyone else until they recant and change their ways. I'm a Christian- I cannot deliberately kill innocent people, target customers in restaurants, murder US marines in Lebanon, hide arms in ambulances, hold hostages, set bombs to go off in civilian airports. Sorry, no-can-do. I am an American, not a terrorist. I am an American, not a marxist despotic thug like Yassir Arafat, who keeps his people as poor as he can by preventing investment and development and by wasting resources and lives to pursue control and persecution of his own people and the extermination of jews because of hate.

Israel can deal with these dipwad terrorist buddies of yours single-handed, if they have any balls. Hopefully they will, so that those in the land who are not pro-terrorist can have a break, be they Arab or Jew. The US has more important things to do than act as Arafat's bodyguards.
