Hello Gene,
I was 11 years old when Tmothy was "taken" from the Sayreville carnivale. I was there that night with my entire family and many friends and the bottom line is nobody saw this kid at the carnivale. It was at the JF Kennedy Park across the street from the High School I think (I moved away from there 6 months later after living there for 8 years.)We remember the police coming and not letting anyone leave and we remember the mother at the park screaming looking for her son. It was not a large population. You could see one side of the fair and the other with a turn of your head. We don't remeber Timothy being there at all. Unfortunetly a year later they found Timothy's skeloton in a tire in a body of water. No one knows what happened to this poor child. I am not sure if they arrested the mother and her boyfriend. I think she ended up moving to the mid west and now has another child. Hope this helps.

Karen, they hounded the mother for quite a while-especially in the newspapers. She moved, and got into some minor trouble, and the whole story came out again-but there was never enough evidence in the case to charge anybody.
It wound up being a "trial by media" wiath a "Scots' Verdict" : unproven.
