You know what kills me, is the fact that EVERY news outlet that I read yesterday headed up this story with Bush demanding Israel pull out. Not a single one led off with his criticism of Arafat, which was extremely strong, or his "Get out" message to Syria, Iran & Iraq, which was just as strong, imo.
Anyone just reading the headline would assume the speech was directed against Israel. Unreal. Seems I am enraged on an hourly basis these days regarding the stifling anti-Israel position coming from all over the world.

Hmmm.....well, how does this sit with the "Bush is crapping on Israel" group?

It's quite horrifying to watch, isn't it? I have watched in shock as this story has been twisted beyond belief right in front of my eyes. Even right on this very forum.

Yep, horrifying is a good word. And by the way, thanks much for your reasoned posts regarding Bush's speech yesterday and today. They've helped keep me calm amid my frustration and intense desire for Bush to denounce Arafat as a career terrorist.

I'm right with you. I *try* to tell myself he really does feel like we do, but he just can't say it out loud. It's hard though, isn't it? I guess that's why I'm not in power anywhere.......LOL. I lack the necessary tact to prevent a third World War!
As I said on another thread, a lot of these people around here come out of the gate just a little too fast; of course, a lot of them are just LOOKING for the bad parts, IMO.

Even right on this very forum There are plenty of folks who want to shoot first, and dispense with the questions altogether. Lucky for them, they can do it for free here, without fear of having to see the results of their advice. Unlucky for us, we have to wade through it.

But we DO wade through it. One of my favorite things about FR is you only have to wait a few minutes for somebody to come along with the facts! I suppose that accounts for all the time I spend talking back to the TV; my family and friends just cannot believe how horrible I am to watch TV with!

without fear of having to see the results of their advice. Sometimes I try to think about what the ramifications of some of the "suggestions" I see around here are; all I can ever think is "Man, people just THINK conservatives are nasty, wait till they see THIS!" This minute I'm trying to picture the nightly news showing troops or police going house to house, dragging families into vans and pushing them back over the border. YIKES!

It's one thing to say it should be done, and quite another thing to see it being done. (As Himmler learned one day when he went off to watch his boys machine-gun several hundred Jewish women and children.)
Interestingly, none of the FReepers doing the recommending, would be unlikely to be within 500 miles of the folks who had to do what they want done.

FR definitely has more than its fair share of
armchair Presidents. :) Lately, President Bush hasn't been able to breathe without it being analyzed for form.
Was it too deep or too shallow? Did he wheeze?

Fantastic as always.
Have you every tried to write for any national media outlets? I know most are too liberal, but your talent really needs to be shared beyond the scope of FreeRepublic!

...well, how does this sit with the "Bush is crapping on Israel" group? Most of them will ignore the obvious. It's what they do.
