"Scary stuff," indeed.

I just read an excellent essay by Alan Caruba on the historical roots of our national educational decline. I recommend it for your study:

Good link. All should read it.
I read the book "The Truth About Outcome Based Education." It explaned the push behind the social experiment by the Clinton Administration. Bill was actually on the committee when he was a Gov. Bill had a great deal of involvemrnt in the "creation of universal citizens."

I ordered Isybert's book three years ago and have been trying to get others to read it. I could not put the 'tome' down, it is fascinating and scary as hell. Our teachers are being taught John Dewey's social engineering today; go to 'google' and pull up John Dewey, it is amazing how many of our educators think that man hung the moon.

Dewey said he did not believe children in grades 1 - 3 needed to learn anything but social behavior! Reading, writing etc. could come later. Folks, this country is in deep ca-ca as we have not educated our children; we a graduating virtual dolts from high school and college; we have pushed the Social Worker by the thousands into the work place to further confuse people. America is being systematically socialized and the saddest thing of all IS THAT THEY DON'T KNOW IT!

I just started reading this article and I have to say that it's hard to read an article about the poor state of education in this country when the article is filled with grammatical errors. "Those that have implemented ..." should be "Those WHO have implemented...." and what in the world is a "mother lode"?

Don't get me wrong. I have homeschooled for the past eleven years, so I am well aware of what is wrong with public education. But, it does make me cringe when I see a "professional" article about education that is poorly written.

Well, I just had to say that. I'll go read the rest of the article now. LOL
