The most simplistic definition of socialism is this: The ruling class redistributes the collective wealth of the working class with strings attached.

Welfare creates a servant class who legitimizes power of the ruling class by doing their bidding under threat of losing their benefit of keeping pace with society.

I tried to wade through a good portion of Das Kapitol but he hit the nail on the head, "reader proof." That is one of the difficulties in disproving Marx, nobody knows quite what he said.
