Federal prosecutors have charged Lloyd Larson with four counts of second degree murder after he allegedly crossed into oncoming traffic and hit a car head-on, killing all four people inside.
Lloyd worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs and had nine prior DWI arrests at the time of the accident. Police say his blood alcohol limit was twice the state's legal limit.
It is because of this crash that the state will now look for workers with suspended, revoked or expired driver's licenses. Officials will also review any prior drunken driving convictions against all workers, including university employess.
Government planning, security, education, etc are oxymorons.
However...we DO have a "special class" one must attend (at a cost of 16 bucks additional) to obtain a NM drivers' license for the first time (yet we renew them by mail for up to eight years?)
The deal is: if you are new to the state, you MUST attend a DWI awareness class! SEEMS TO ME, THAT THEY ARE TARGETING THE WRONG AUDIENCE..THE DWI, UNISURED, UNREGOISTERED, REPEAT OFFENDERS ARE ALREADY IN-STATE!
A good number of the state legislature has DWI convictions!
A common response is: "People cannot afford insurance, but must have a car to get to work"...NONSENSE! Either it's the law, or it isn't!
NM has a log way to go in enforcing laws, eliminating a self perpetuating welfare subsistance, and a shabby road history!
REMEMBER GORDON HOWE? ANOTHER "NA" WHO TOOK THE HEADLINES AND WAS ANOTHER CASE OF SHODDY COURTS, ENFORCEMENT AND A DISMAL TESTIMONY TO THE STATE WHERE NO NE GIVES A DAMN ABOUT DRIVER RESPONSIBILITY!
