Christians spend to much time preoccupied with this stuff. Let me sum it up for you - good guys win, bad guys lose - do you need to know or understand anymore prohphecy than that?

Well, Christ himself thought that we should know at least SOME prophesy. He tells us to look for signs of the end. From Matthew chapter 33: "35 Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: 36 Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping. 37 And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch."

I agree with you, we should not obsess on prophesy, as some do, but live our lives planning to live for years, but ready to go any minute.

Absolutely, and I agree with the non-obsessing. Let's not also ignore the fact that the 12 tribes are at this time slowly migrating back to Israel. So when do you think the Arab nation will rise up against Israel?

I disagree with your interpretation on Matthew. When the Lord says "Watch, because you know not when the lord will come" he is not saying watch for all these stupid signs. He is saying YOU WILL NOT KNOW so watch out and be right with God always. In fact, the next line, which you did not quote specifically says that the end will come when you LEAST expect it.
