This patriot attempted to escape 3 seperate times while being held as a hostage in Iran. The man was unknown to me until I read about his death tonight on an inner page newspaper article, reporting on newsworthy "highlights" from around the nation. Rest in peace...
I have had an opportunity to communicate with another former embassy hostage that happens to be from my home town. I sent this news to him as soon as I learned of it.
I had an instructor in parachute rigger school, at Ft Lee, Petersburg, Virginia, that was a volunteer whom did go on the ill fated rescue attempt. As an aside, his name was...get this; Sgt. Rock. His attitude and brevity was equal to his name. We have had...and currently do have...in service...and will continue to have...and foster, men & women, that put it all on the line for their country. Thank you MALCOLM KALP

This man was one of my best friends father :( He left behind not only a wife, daughter, but two special needs grandchildren who were adopted by his daughter. They are very upset and distraught. Lisa, his daughter has been bombarded by media and press wanting to talk to her about what happened. She is barely making it emotionally. Please pray for her. She is only seeking justice at this time for her fathers death. At this time the drunk driver was released after posting bail, and is pleading not guilty (of course). They arent even sure if he will do any time yet for killing her father.
