And I'll be sure to pass the word on to the mayor and township committee (a member of which is designated as the Police Commissioner) that ppaul and Fred Mertz of FreeRepublic.com have decreed that Dover Township, Seaside Heights, Ocean County, or any community whatsoever for that matter, do not need a SWAT team, and that it should be immediately disbanded.
Hell, why stop there? All of the aforementioned departments should be disbanded, including the Ocean County Sheriff's Department (also based in Toms River), and as for all those prisoners in the Ocean County Jail (ditto), let 'em all go. From now on, it's every man, woman, and child for themselves!
Oh, and by the way, it turns out that the 25-year-old son across the street from the cop was tried and acquitted of sexual assaut, lewd conduct, and child endangerment against the cop's daughter last year. The neighbors in the house behind him that he blew away testified as "character" witnesses on behalf of the kid.
But of course, everyone knows that because this guy was a cop, he was naturally just a pyscho waiting to snap, right?
