Gay "Silence Day" in Sacramento Schools
Eric Hoag Show (AM 1380 Sacramento)

Posted on 04/10/2002 9:13:25 AM PDT by jettester

Eric Hoag announced a "stealth" or, covert, "Day of Silence" being offered in some of the Sacramento schools today (Elk Grove was mentioned). He even had a copy of another school which lent its' letterhead to the event soliciting support from the community.

A caller to the show mentioned that an unnamed Democrat from California stood up during the 1-minute openings of the U.S. House "seeking bi-partisan" support for this event in the California schools. Hoag was utterly besides himself at this flagrant attempt by the schools to silence kids who opposed this lifestyle.

He is recommending that parents sue the school districts for violation of Constitutional Rights for those students to be summarily "silenced" who oppose these "alternative" lifestyles. Anyone else here in California aware of this happening in your schools? What should be done about it?

One look at where this leads.

End forced association in America NOW!

But just because the Wanting Seed is a work of playful parody and dark comedy does not mean there is nothing profound about it. In fact if I had to pick the one dystopian novel towards which our society is most surely leaning, it would be this one (which is pretty amazing considering it was written in 1962). As counties like China and India are regulating procreation and instituting their own versions of Mr. Burgess' "population police" and the value of human life wilts ever downward, I wonder how close we are to vision of the Wanting Seed. The novel stands as a warning that repressing man's natural urges and diminishing his worth is not the answer to the problem. Your bookstore is stocked full of novels predicting mankind's future, but few as startling and important as this.

Son informed me last night that this program was being "volutarilly adopted" in Lake Oswego high school district, just outside Portland.

He said he would be a little more "vocal" than normal today, to which I said, "you get it, son."

When is the religon of the left going to be as outlawed as traditional American religious views in our public schools?

I misunderstood the title; I thought it meant that for ONE DAY they weren't going to talk about being gay.

"What should be done about it?"

Give California back to Mexico. The whole country is tired of the popular, psychotic culture out there.

Agreed! Kalifornia, the first brick of America to crumble into oblivion. Who's next?

"He is recommending that parents sue the school districts for violation of Constitutional Rights for those students to be summarily "silenced" who oppose these "alternative" lifestyles."

The silence of the students is voluntary and consists of those who believe themselves to be homosexual and their supporters. Other students can legally continue to speak throughout the day. And they can handout information of their own. Choice 4 Truth has been organizing a counter-event to GLSEN's "Day of Silence" -- See:

I don't know about "better" or "peaceful", but it'll sure be a lot quieter.

Who's next? How about Massechusetts or Vermont? We could hand 'em to the EU. They're both unnofficial members anyway.

I hope you both realize I was joking.

If the great man, Ronald Reagan, could successfully govern California, there is hope. But it's up to CA voters.

PRESS RELEASE

Contact: Attorney Scott Lively, PFLC Director (Pro-Family Law Center)

"Gay Day of Silence" An Early Warning for School Boards, Parents

Today across America many schools are getting their first taste of "gay" militancy in the form of an attention-getting device mislabeled the "Day of Silence." Homosexual-identified students in so-called "Gay Straight Alliance Clubs" will wear pink gags and refuse to speak, in order to draw attention to a national political campaign to legitimize homosexuality in schools. They will spend the day passing out pro-homosexual propaganda and reveling in their power to hijack the school for their own ends. This is nothing less than ACT-Up-style street activism transplanted into the school house, but worse because students are a captive audience.

School boards and parents who have condoned the "Day of Silence" should be made aware of what will likely come next in the "gay" movement's ever-unfolding process of homosexualizing the youth. These predictions are based upon our observations of "gay" activism in the schools over several years.

1) The campus will become highly politicized around the issue of "gay rights."

Gay/Straight Alliance clubs are the invention of the politically aggressive Gay Lesbian Straight Education Network (GLSEN), a national organization of homosexual teachers. GLSEN's goal is to legitimize homosexuality to all schoolchildren in America. The GSA clubs serve as a vehicle to gain political support for so-called "gay-rights" among idealistic but intellectually immature future voters.

It is probable that one or more adult homosexual activists, possibly teachers, are responsible for the GSA club coming to the local school. This may be a violation of the Equal Access Act, which forbids non-student control of clubs granted under its auspices. These teachers should be identified and their activism exposed to public scrutiny.

2) Student free speech opposed to homosexuality will be chilled.

Through clever sophistry devised by national "gay" strategists, opponents of homosexuality are as cast as haters and "homophobes" whose opinions are dangerous to "gay" kids and must thus be changed or silenced. GSA students are trained by GLSEN to intimidate opponents through the use of a few carefully constructed rhetorical tricks: arguments which appear logically sound but which rely on hidden false assumptions and deliberately ambiguous terms. Other students and even most adults are not equipped to avoid these rhetorical traps.

One example is the use of the term "homophobia," a nonsense word which serves to characterize opposition to homosexuality as a psychological disorder. The use of the word is itself an intimidation tactic designed to put opponents of "gay rights" on the defensive. To prove this to yourself, challenge an advocate of "gay rights" to distinguish "homophobia" from legitimate opposition to homosexuality. What you will find is that the "gay" movement recognizes no legitimate opposition to its agenda. Thus what you thought was a term to escribe violent "gay-bashers" and hate-mongers is actually a term to lump all traditionally-minded people together as mentally ill. This is not fair debate; it is intellectual and emotional manipulation.

Other examples include but are not limited to a) arguments which assume an equivalency between homosexuality and heterosexuality (They are not equivalent. Heterosexuality describes the normal physiological function of the human reproductive system in which all male and female sexuality is rooted. Homosexuality is an objectively disordered condition that afflicts people who are by nature heterosexual.) b) arguments which give new political definitions to old familiar terms: "tolerance," "diversity," "multi-culturalism," "safe schools." c) arguments, usually incorporating the term "sexual orientation," which obscure the distinction between homosexual inclinations and homosexual conduct in discussions about protecting or respecting "gays and lesbians." d) arguments which rest upon unproved assumptions such as the hypothesis that homosexuals are "born that way." Another common false assumption is that teaching schoolchildren to respect each other requires homosexuality to b! e legitimized at school.

3) An increasing number of students will self-identify as "gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgendered" and/or will experiment with homosexuality.

GSA clubs provide a student peer-based gateway through which children can be drawn into the "gay" lifestyle. Children sample from life's "buffet" of possibilities, often without regard to the wisdom of their choices (e.g. tongue piercing). The more central to their peer culture is the behavioral option in question, the more likely students are to try it. In many schools "being gay" becomes a fad, especially among the more rebellious students.

Schools may face legal liability if their actions contributed to the death or injury of a child because of a sexually transmitted disease or other factors. Local "gay" activism on campus is often followed by the opening of a "Gay and Lesbian Youth Center" in the community which becomes a place where older homosexuals come to meet and mingle with the teens. Schools which facilitate student involvement with outside homosexual organizations could be exposed to litigation from parents whose children are then physically or sexually abused.

EXPOSING AND COUNTERING THE "GAY" AGENDA IN SCHOOLS

The Pro-Family Law Center has prepared a free publication titled the National Parents Advisory: The Danger of "Safe Schools." which helps parents and concerned citizens recognize and respond to the promotion of homosexuality in America's public schools.
