GLSEN in Public Schools -Arizona Reactions
Deer Valley Parents & Educators Message Forum ^ | 04/10/02 | Deer Valley District Parents/Educators Board

Freepers: I wanted you to see some of the responses from teachers and/or parents who reside in my school district with regard to GLSEN in the schools. I had posted at the link provided about GLSEN and here are some of the responses:

"Well, I hate to tell you this, but you have single handedly probably done more to promote this group than they ever could of done on their own!

face it. Free speech is free speech. If the students are not disruptive, you cannot regulate content. We learned this with the Bible club dispute.

NO ONE is coming into our classrooms to discuss homosexuality! Whoever "dib" is needs to lighten up and focus on the REAL problems we know exist in our district. P.S. "dib" I've had more "Christian" parents come to me over the years with what they wanted or didn't want to be taught then any other group! I've NEVER had a gay or lesbian parent come in to tell me what to teach. You should know your child's teacher well enough by this time of the year to know if he/she is going to bring this type of issue to the classroom. If you feel your child's teacher will introduce this subject then you need to tell them your feelings. This website is losing credibility with this kind of idiocy! Kay

No you just feel your right and everybody else is wrong! You haven't any tolerance for what you don't understand, probably do to lack of life experience out of the church..Speaking of church and Christians, what you so hate seems to run rampant in at least one faith!!!!!

I have mentioned this whole thing to a few parents who are extremely involved on their kids campus and a couple of teachers-

None of them has ever heard of this whole GLSEN thing.

It is going to be just fine. Teachers and students are both to busy to be "into" or " facilitating" this whole thing.

It is a known fact that christian kids who attend public schools deal better with life and all it has to throw them, compared to home schooled or private religious schools. why? because they are not sheltered and have to learn to deal with the world on their age appropriate level while leaning on their faith and support system.

Look at it this way- you are building strong kids, this incident is a character building experience if your child.

Have faith in your faith and in your kids!!!

Do not attempt to blame the staff."

*********************************************************** As you can see, many seem to be in total DENIAL or do not want parents to know about this. I have not changed the text and have just copy and pasted some of the reactions here for your comments.

FYI. Dealing with the education establishment is a lost cause and they are very hostile. Not once did I ever mention to them that I was a homeschooling mother.

This statement is just plain false. There has NEVER been a study done that showed homeschooled kids (let alone private schooled kids) have more trouble "dealing with life". On the contrary, the studies have shown that homeschooled kids deal BETTER.

Someday this parent will ask themselves why their kid is asking my kid, "Do you want fries with that?" or why my kid is reminding their kid, "One care package per prisoner, please".

Say hello to the lost generation.

"You haven't any tolerance for what you don't understand..."

Ah, the old tolerance resort. Seems by context of this statement, this one's definition of "understand" suggests others must accept this behavior as normal. However, one does not need to "understand", "engage in", nor "tolerate" filth to fully recognize it's harmful effects. Tolerance is a good virtue, but virtue should never be sacrificed for the sake of tolerance....

This statement is just plain false.

When a liberal begins a sentence with "It is a known fact", he or she is lying. I caught on to that game long ago. Watch for it -- you'll see.

You can see what teachers are all about in their own words here: http://teachers.net/chatboard/

"Bill in Conn" runs a GLSEN outreach in his school. "Michael" teachers 3rd grade and claims 75% of men primary grade teachers are gay like himself. No need to register to reply or post. They do act as if creatures from another planet have landed when conservatives visit.

After listening to the radio program, I came to the conclusion that parents and some teachers were unaware of this event.

However, a parent called in to the show and stated that she called the district yesterday and inquired about it. They lied to her and said that Deer Valley would not be participating. She then went on to say that she called back and told them that she heard the Bob Mohan show where this was being discussed. The school staff finally admitted that this would be occurring on April 10th.

Seems to me that educrats (many, not all) thought they could pull the wool over our eyes. NOT!!

there are audio tapes of a GLSN meeting on
the web site

www.stevekaneshow.com

Scarry stuff. It is a wonder no one has picked up on
this stuff.

This includes audio and written materials for schoolchildren.
