1. Nationhood and Jerusalem. Israel became a nation in 1312 B.C, two thousand years before the rise of Islam.Tell that to Colin Powell.

I look and I see.
What will the UN do if Sharon keeps his troops attacking Palestinians?
The UN will try to enforce the terms of the treaty that Israel agreed to in Oslo. And who does the UN use as it's police force?
The US Armed Forces.
.....AND ALL NATIONS WILL GO TOGETHER AGAINST ISRAEL.

Here are two you missed, Israel would not exist without aid and arms furnished by the USA,and 9/11 didn`t happen because we are friends with Canada.Sharon is hurting Israel big time because he has made it much more difficult for OUR COUNTRY to take care of Saddamn. His action in the west bank is being used to justify more "maryters" and will not bring peace {it hasn`t worked for 54 years, why will it work now?]

ALSO, a tract of the Koran advocates the destruction and subjugation of all non muslims. The muslims who do not feel this way merely ignore that passage. The one who do are consistent according the koran. Violence in the name of some god. That is the source of all this nonsense. Do away with Islam, and there is no more divine (ho ho) command to kill and subjugate.

Negotiations In Israel
The Prime Minister of Israel sits down with Arafat at the beginning of negotiations regarding the resolution of the conflict. The Prime Minister requests that he be allowed to begin with a story. Arafat replies, "Of course."
The Prime Minister begins his story: "Years before the Israelites came to the Promised Land and settled here, Moses led them for 40 years through the desert. The Israelites began complaining that they were thirsty and, lo and behold, a miracle occurred and a stream appeared before them. They drank their fill and then decided to take advantage of the stream to do some bathing -- including Moses.
When Moses came out of the water, he found that all his clothing was missing.
"Who took my clothes?" Moses asked those around him.
"It was the Palestinians," replied the Israelites--"
"Wait a minute," objected Arafat immediately, "there were no Palestinians during the time of Moses!"
"All right," replies the Prime Minister, "Now that we've got that settled, let's begin our negotiations."

"Jews pray facing Jerusalem. Muslims pray with their backs toward Jerusalem"
Geography??
Osama comes from Yemen, so wouldn't it be pretty hard, indeed a real
streeeetch for him to pray facing Mecca with his back towards Jerusalem.

"Sharon is hurting Israel big time because he has made it much more difficult for OUR COUNTRY to take care of Saddamn."
When did the Arabs say they would support an attack on Saddam? I don't seem to recall any of them backing such a move before the recent counteroffensive. Actually, I remember the Arab summit for all the "kiss and make up" activity between Saddam's reps and Kuwait and others, and they've been trying to lift the sanctions on him for years now.
The only difference now is that they are going to grab onto to this as a fig leaf to cover themselves for not wanting to do something that they never had any intention of doing in the first place.

Trying to negotiate peace between the Arabs and the Jews has never worked...why should it now?
To: bybybill
{it hasn`t worked for 54 years, why will it work now?]And it won't work with Colin Powel inserting "monitors" into the region either. This is between Israel and the Palestinians. When Syria, Jordan and Egypt invade Israel, then we crush them. But let's stop hiding behind the pretense of peace; it just isn't going to happen with us sticking our nose in the fray.

...why should it now = why would it now?

Please take time to remember what was said before the Gulf War. If the question is "Will it be harder to get rid of Saddamn and clean up Iran as a result of Sharons War", the honest answer is yes. Its time for many Freepers to remember we aren`t citizens of Israel and our President is protecting our interests first.
