It happened to us. We lived in Orange County for over twenty years, then our formerly safe neighborhood was "surrounded" by a huge influx of illegal aliens. They stole everything that wasn't nailed down, crowded the schools and medical facilities, hung around street corners and peed where they stood. We never hired them, we wanted to get away from them so we moved, but they're here too, just not in our neighborhood yet, but they will be.
The numbers coming in are frightening, and California cannot absorb them. Bush won't listen to us, he wants votes and big business wants slave labor.
