They aren't coming from Yucatan. They're from Mexicali and other north towns.

The wife and I volunteer at a local homeless shelter, she as a case aide for Spanish speakers. At least in Denver, the majority come from the interior of Mexico (and countries south), not from the border states like Baja, Sonora, et al. Maybe different in CA, AZ, TX.

Interesting. Here in LA most I know are from Mexicali.

One gal I worked with, I told about my trip all though Mexico a number of years ago.

She said I probably knew Mexico better than she did -- she'd never been to Yucatan or Vera Cruz etc...
