Housing values have been increased tremendously because of immigrants. Not just Mexicans, but Russians, Arabs, Polish, German, Vietnamese, etc. Simply the sheer numbers of unprecedented levels of immigration, regardless of who is arriving. This is good if you're selling; bad if you're buying. In the long run it will result in a lower standard of living for Americans - well, it already has. Folks, you better get used to smaller "living units", just like the Japanese. This means more congestion and sprawl. It also means less habitat for wildlife and one wonders why the Sierra Club, et al, don't protest immigration - but the environment isn't really their interest after all.
