This Southern guy has now forgiven him for "Southern Man." In fact, "Sweet Home Alabama" was already his payback. Neil Young is a true patriot.

Ohioman, What about his lyrics to this?:

OHIO

(from: So Far, CSNY)

Tin soldiers and Nixon's coming
We're finally on our own
This summer I hear the drumming
Four dead in Ohio
Gonna get down to it soldiers are cutting us down
Should have been down long ago
What if you knew her and found her dead on the ground
How can you run when you know.
Gonna get down to it soldiers are cutting us down
Should have been down long ago
What if you knew her and found her dead on the ground
How can you run when you know

Neil Young has said that he regrets recording this song, and exploiting the tragedy at Kent State. I guess that's why he's gone out of his way to make "Let's Roll" free.

I like the shorthand version: National Guard 4, Kent State 0.

Rock and roll is much more fun if you don't listen to the lyrics. Heck, with a lot of songs, like "Louie Louie" you can't understand them anyway. (Let's Roll, of course, is different, in a class by itself right now.)

Back in the 80's I read an article (in Spin magazine?) where Young expressed strong support for President Reagan.
