Is " 'blogs " pronounced as one sylable? Like, rhymes with "logs" or "jogs"? Is it just a truncation or contraction of "weblog"?

Yes, even though the syllables of the original word 'weblog' are separated thusly; web:log; the term 'blog' has only one syllable.
