From what I understand the majority of male homosexuals , don't know about lesbians, have a history of being sexually abused as youngsters . I am sure this has lasting and deep mental ramifications.

So his statement about a mental institution while extreme has a legitimate basis. Psychological counseling and treatment would be a more apt suggestion.

I take it you're conceding the point then: This judge has no biblical authority for his medical diagnosis. What's interesting is that people who differ in their views on the morality or immorality of homosexuality can agree in his stupidity. Christians should be particularly concerned because his stupidity reinforces negative stereotypes.

By stupidity I take it that you're refering to the fact that he, being a public servant, actually said something against homosexuals publicly? I guess you define stupid as one who isn't cowed by homosexual activists. That would mean intelligence is defined as being submissive to those activists.

The arguments against special privileges being awarded to homosexuals, and even that they should be placed in mental institutions, don't need the Bible. They're found in the way physical reality, as applied to creatures, is arranged. History shows us that homosexuality is either deadly to a civilization or a indicator that a civilization is close to destruction. Neither historical interpretation is positive.

Medical diagnosis. The good judge didn't make a medical diagnosis, any more than observing that someone has cut their hand. He gave a medical remedy. Homosexuality is obviously a mental problem; an identity disorder. When one's body is male or female and one thinks and acts as the opposite, one has an identity crisis. There is simply no other explanation; the "homosexual gene" is, and has been proven to be fantasy. Genetics determines physical states; attitude and behavior is learned.

There really is no such thing as a "mental illness". There are medical or genetic flaws effecting every part of the physical body. I don't think the Bible defines any as mental illness.

I think he was making a clear case of their disease being...a mental illness. One that has been shown to be treatable.

The Argentine government of a few decades ago used to hook political dissidents' genitals up to shock machines and zap them while showing them pictures of their husbands or wives. In this way, the authorities were quite successful in 'treating' heterosexuality.

The judge isn't making a moral claim. The judge is making a medical diagnosis.

No he is just stating what had been true for years. Until the APA was lobbied and boycotted to change their diagnosis catogories, homosexuality and lesbianism were medical diagnosis. The only diagnosis to be rallied and boycotted, and politicised out of the DSM, (Diagnostic Manual).

So how do you know they do not harm anyone? Where is your proof that there is no harm? I can prove that there is harm. How many may have suffered mental anguish because of the actions of homosexuals? How many have suffered from illness caused by this activity?

I think most lesbians do also. Some kind of abuse or they witnessed abuse --a boyfriend beating their mother, even severe emotional abuse. The break up of the family is bound to lead to more homosexuality because when single mothers bring their temporary boyfriends into the home, the children are often abused in some way.
