Would it surprise you to learn how recently medical texts warned against the dangers of masturbation? Some even showed photos so people so you could see how a person's health would decline with frequent masturbation. There seems to be an overwhelming temptation to jump from a moral premise to a medical diagnosis. Apparently the APA eventually grew embarassed when the fallacy was pointed out to them. Unfortunately, many people are too stupid to realize it's a fallacy.

When you say it's a mental illness, you're not making a cliam about it's moral status. You're making a claim about the underlying causes for the behavior. To illustrate: consider compulsive behavior. In extreme cases we attribute it to a chemical imbalance in the brain. And in some cases that imbalance is treatable with meds. But a person can be compulsive about helping little old ladies across the street and a person can be compulsive about stealing from them. In both cases the behavior has the same sort of underlying cause. Take a look at what the medical community said about masturbation until well into the 20th century: It was listed as an illness. Why? Because it was thought to be immoral and people made the same leap.

So true ... .All a Christian, as this Judge is, can do is warn them and suggest they get help. Whether us mere imperfect mortals agree or not with His Word, doesn't matter. If these folks continue on in their unnatrual behavior, they will go to hell along with others disobey and lack belief.

Imagine all those "Christians" who get divorced for reasons that are not legitimate according to God and those who live together ... . The point is it's not just homosexuals that will be condemed. Anyone is a candidate but homosexuality seems to especially disgust Him since He singles that out as an "abomination" and it is.

Because it's been proven that it is not a mental illness. You revise as you learn more about something. People once thought the earth was flat (The Flat Earth Society still does, through their literal interpretation of the Bible) but once evidence proved that wasn't so, we came to the conclusion that the earth was round.
