The thing that worries me, is that these Muslim terrorists aren't necessarily interested in these high-profile targets: a cafe or busy street is just as satisfying for them, and I can't see any way to protect against this.

I feel for ya Andy, but when the BBC complains about roadblocks going into Jerusalem perhaps you should have started complaining then. Kissing Arse with Terrorists gets you more terrorists. Killing them thins them out. Too bad all of Europe chose Oil over Humanity. Hey, you may loose your family in a coffee shop explosion, but at least gas will be cheap!

I don't agree with your reasoning behind Europe's backing of terrorism in and around Israel. I think that what's being seen is more anti-Semitic, than pro-oil (though the oil certainly plays a part).

There are large populations of Muslims in much of Europe. What we're seeing is an attempt to prevent violent outbreaks by these groups, by way of aiding-and-abetting in the attempted destruction of Israel. Funnelling hundreds of millions of dollars to the PLO cannot be described otherwise.

These ignorant politicians do not realise that they are making terrorism in their lands more, rather than less, likely by rewarding murderous and genocidal behaviour. I definetly think that it is potential troubles amongst their populations that drives them against Israel, rather than the desire for cheap oil. Other factors certainly include the irrational hatred of Jewish people, and people who always support the "oppressed".

Too many Americans don't realize how many Arabs/Muslims live in Western Europe now. Holland, Germany, France, and the UK are full of them. Unfortunately, when Americans read these articles about European anti-Semitism, they picture in their minds regular white French or Germans burning down synogogues and/or rioting against Israel.

Finally though, it is coming out in the articles that the people engaging in these activities are the Arabs who live in Europe. I was there in the mid-ninties and saw it for myself. Frankfurt is full of them. The men like to just "hang" in groups on the street corners and stare, and you never see the women!
