The "new" format is nowhere near as attractive and easy to use as the old.

You can say that again. And there are not
near as many people responding to the threads as there used
to be, except for certain threads, where some people
have developed an ongoing comraderie with a continuing subject.
Don't get me wrong that is alright, but FreeRepublic is not like it used to be.
