But wouldn't this be, in some ways, the ultimate test of Palestinian good intentions? If they are willing and able to take responsibility for protecting a Jewish minority, then maybe they could finally join the family of responsible nations...

Sounds great, doesn't it?
And the beauty of it is, all we would be risking in order to deny reality and past performance is the lives of several thousand Jews.
I am sure it is worth the price to test our faith in human nature, using the phrase rather loosely...
