An editorial cartoon questioning the notion of slave reparations published by a student newspaper in Indiana was denounced as disrespectful of Purdue University's minority community and prompted an apology by the editor of the paper, The Exponent.

Should've made it critical of whites in some way; then there wouldn't have been a problem!

Face painting has been banned at 4-H camps in West Virginia and several other longstanding American Indian customs could also be axed because they might be offensive to Native Americans and violate federal law, reports The Associated Press.

Heaven forbid the children have fun. After all, they're just miniature adults, and, at EVERY age should be fully aware of EVERYTHING offensive, unless they're playing basketball, and then they can make fun of the white guy(s).

Espinosa was on assignment at the city library when his 50-pound Labrador mix, Kimba, was attacked by L.C., the library cat. The suit contends the city is guilty of a hate crime for putting the welfare of its "dangerous cat" above people with disabilities.

I could make a few crude pussycat references here, but won't.

"When I saw that flyer, I read it as 'Bay Buchanan is here to hang me,'" said Katrina Baker. She said the "Constitution is irrelevant on this campus. We are [a] private [college]. We do not go by that here."

Hear HEAR! No need for the pesky Constitution when there are IMPORTANT issues to tackle, like transgenderness, and CAMPAIGN FINANCE REFORM.

I caught the fury of our local feminuts' wrath a few years back as a newspaper columnist when I repeated some comments about men made in a local university's women's studies program.

The only little bit of editorial tinkering I did was to include the descriptive adjective *black* in the copy, since one of my neighbors at the time was a single black guy, and that helped me- and presumably, our readers- better visualize him as an oppressor of women.

HE thought it was funny as he11, and spot-on. My editor thought it was a hoot. Them dumbJanes did not.
