Politically, Sachs said, he didn't know how the American people could be persuaded to go along with such draconian cuts in their use of resources. But he thought it was doable if changes in technology, infrastructure and energy sources were implemented over time.

The American people are too selfish and too ignorant to understand that their present lifestyle is unstainable as defined by the United Nations.

People in the USA think they are more deserving of a comfortable lifestyle than their brothers and sisters from Bangladesh and the Central African Republic, and other emerging third world democracies.

It's time the UN steps in to assure equitable distribution of Earth's resources and harmonize global per capita income, and build a sustainable world population. It's only fair.

It's time to support Hilary French and the United Nations in their efforts to provide us with a plan for global governance that will superceed outdated concepts of national sovereignty.

See the web page for how the UN can provide us with a plan for global peace, lead by our current Nobel Peace Prize winner, His Excellency Kofi Annan at Peace through UN Global Governance.
