What Does "Palestine" Mean?

It has never been the name of a nation or state. It is a geographical term, used to designate the region at those times in history when there is no nation or state there

I've posted the explanation of P A L E S T I N E before. It is not derived from any Arabic term or name, either in translation or MIStranslation. It is a SHORTHAND term for the geographical area known as the Near East. It was coined by an English archaeological expedition of the Paleo-era of the Near East around 1835.
PALEological Study In the Near East. PALESTINE. The head of the expedition was a female archaeologist whose name escapes me at the moment. Graham, I think.
Since the study was done, it has seeped into the language as a whole word, which it isn't, and over the last couple of centuries, it has been used to replace original wording in recopies of everything from old maps, to art, to literature, including the Bible itself...much of which we have the Britannica to thank for.
Fortunately, some things like old maps and old Bibles remain in private hands, some of which are mine. There is NO Palestine, and never was.
