President Bush once again called on Congress to make the tax cuts passed last year permanent. In a speech to the Meeting of the Leaders of the Fiscal Responsibility Coalition, Bush stressed the importance of smaller taxes and more jobs in order for the economy to continue to grow. Earlier in the day, the President called on Congress to pass a Crime Victims Rights Amendment.
"When our criminal justice systems treats victims as irrelevant bystanders, they are victimized for a second time. And because Americans are justifiably proud of our system and expect it to treat us fairly, the second violation of our rights can be traumatic. "It's like a huge slap," said one victim, "because you think the system will protect you. It's maddening and frightening," the President said.
Bush also met with Finland President Tarja Halonen. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!
QUOTE OF THE DAY: You've got a tool, and that's called your voice, and the people you work with. And I've got a tool, and that's called a veto. (Laughter and applause.) And perhaps -- and together -- (applause).
Did President Bush take the gloves off with Senate Democrats???? Read the speech and judge for yourself.
Yikes.

Didn't do much for me. I turned on Hannity in the car - I couldn't resist - and right off the bat he blasts Bush about the MidEast AND he even mentioned his 'intellectual honesty' and how he was duty-bound to uphold it. Gag.
I turned it off!
