A day in the life of President Bush (photos): 4/16/02

President Bush once again called on Congress to make the tax cuts passed last year permanent. In a speech to the Meeting of the Leaders of the Fiscal Responsibility Coalition, Bush stressed the importance of smaller taxes and more jobs in order for the economy to continue to grow. Earlier in the day, the President called on Congress to pass a Crime Victims’ Rights Amendment.

"When our criminal justice systems treats victims as irrelevant bystanders, they are victimized for a second time. And because Americans are justifiably proud of our system and expect it to treat us fairly, the second violation of our rights can be traumatic. "It's like a huge slap," said one victim, "because you think the system will protect you. It's maddening and frightening," the President said.

Bush also met with Finland President Tarja Halonen. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

QUOTE OF THE DAY: You've got a tool, and that's called your voice, and the people you work with. And I've got a tool, and that's called a veto. (Laughter and applause.) And perhaps -- and together -- (applause).

I heard Daschle say that the Senate will never consider making the tax cuts permanent. What a sourpuss that man is.

A dedicated Daily Doser sent me the following information:

I understand that a number of the Bush Babes are looking for videotapes featuring classic speeches by President Bush. Just wanted to provide you, and them, with the following information:

Presidential Address 9/20/01 ($29.95): Presidential Address

National Prayer Service ($29.95) National Prayer Servce

"Midland's Rising Son: A Salute to George W. Bush" featuring "Thank You" speech to 15,000 Midlanders on Jan 17, 2001 and Inauguration ceremony/speech/parade on Jan 20, 2001 (also features cuts from the GWB videos shown at the Republican Convention) -- Excellent tape (particularly the speech and audience interaction in Midland!)!!! $19.95 Midland's Rising Son + Extras

VIDEOCLIP: "Dangerous Missions Left Ahead" -- an AWESOME videoclip featuring a VERY emotional GWB talking about his commitment to the war on terror (and the soldiers who are fighting this war)! Dangerous Missions Left Ahead

Here's an update on my Sean Hannity email. I received an email this morning from Sweet Baby James and he said that both he and Sean are big admirers of the President. They believe he is a good man in a very difficult job.

Didn't do much for me. I turned on Hannity in the car - I couldn't resist - and right off the bat he blasts Bush about the MidEast AND he even mentioned his 'intellectual honesty' and how he was duty-bound to uphold it. Gag.

I turned it off!
