Ever since Vietnam the "leadership" of the democrats have been anti-military. More and more, the U.S. military, especially the officer corps, but even the enlisted ranks have become associated with the Republican party and more towards its conservative wing. Frankly, democrats don't serve. Simple as that.

Yes, the left wingers do all they can to weaken the military (it's true here in the UK) with political correctness and peacekeeping missions, underminine the esprit and elan of our warriors. It's amazing the soldiers don't spit in the faces of the politicians.
